Blast from the past: I am not part of the Bird family,
but I could really be that Cheep-Cheep-Cheep… (Cheap) I will do anything to save money. [Remember we are in recession!]
All these, happened before the recession OK… (Sometimes I wonder if am Indian and Chinese by chance… Hmmm.)
I remember, years ago… I was supposed to visit a friend in Santa Cruz, California somewhere near San Francisco and San Jose (correct me if am wrong, but hell I am not your miss you know it all that!) you know and the fares from Philadelphia to SanFo and SanJo are just about to cost me an arm and a leg at that time so I checked the fares on the same dates going into Los Angeles. Hell it was $200.00 something cheaper! I went to the latter. (Knowing that fares from Los Angeles to SanJo or Sanfo with United could be running roughly around $90.00 round trip mind you! but as I’ve said I am not miss you know it all that! I was really-really-really wrong about that $90.00!!! GrrRrrrRrrrRrrr…) Hell I was wrong, very wrong! Teeehehehe…
I was in Los Angeles by noon time, had dinner with my auntie and uncle in some Chinese buffet ugh, gotta have a dose of that msg! That very early next day my uncle dropped me off at Greyhound station in downtown (it was scary! the place and the people.) to catch the bus from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz which is just 4 to 5 hours away “daw” sabi nung kausap kong operator from Greyhound, apparently YES! It is… 4 to 5 hours away, If we don’t have to stop at every exit in California’s highway no! GrrrrRRrrrr. I left Los Angeles around 7AM and got to Santa Cruz by 6PM Eastern time??? Ngek!
And since I took the bus going to Santa Cruz might as well take the bus too, back to Los Angeles no! I have to, since my plane ticket returning home is leaving from Los Angeles as well. The bus from Santa Cruz to Los Angeles is (A little bit longer compared going to Santa Cruz, going back to Los Angles was freaking 11 hours!!!) As in may tulya na ako sa leeg ko - mind you - hindi pa uso nyang panahon na yan ang laptop at kung anik anik na iPod kaya naman talagang pa-boryongan ang labanan… (This was around 6-7 years ago…) Total savings talaga, money wise, pero yong pagod at oras tsk! Yon lang ang sayang.
