Philadelphia’s most haunted - Part 1

This is the Independence visitors center. [I am a visitor! lols] This is where your first stop if you are a first time visitor in Philadelphia! [You can purchase tickets here for attractions such as museums, guided walk tours, bus tour, find maps here, get the schedules of attractions and find great places to eat.]

The other day I decided to explore what’s Philadelphia has to offer. It is a shame that there’s alot of places and things, that I haven’t experienced as of yet… [HOY! Hindi totong ang eksperyensha ko eh daig pa ang eksperyensha ng isang nanay!]

Honestly, I haven’t been in a farm to do some apple picking (shame-shame-shame!!! all these years, what I did was just to pick my nose ewwww… hahaha…) And just last year, I did my first hayride (another shame!) lols… Now that I am not working and pretty much have a plethora of time over the weekend, it’s time to do some exploration!!!

I went to the world’s first true penitentiary, a prison designed to inspire penitence- or true regret- in the hearts of criminals. The original seven cellblocks spread like the spokes of a wheel, and had turning water and central heat before the White House. [O ang taray diba?]

I bought my Eastern State Penitentiary tickets at Independence center in Philadelphia Trolley Work which is just $12.00 - I didn’t get the bus tour for it will cost around $27 something million billion gazillion dollars. [Well that $27 is a 24 hour pass, which is not bad at all, if you are a visitor and is trying to explore Philly!]

I took the Philly Phlash (Pucha, parang may Fee at Eff depect ah lols - just like the other day, I saw nakita ko sa isang building is Philippino Phans Club Of Phillies [the official baseball team of PA].)

Just like the Trolley or the Big Bus chorva the Phlash stops at 20 strategic locations. It is a great way to get around Philadelphia. It’s a purple trolley that runs throughout the center of Philadelphia.

From 5th and Market Streets I took the Phlash and get off at the Art Museum stop which is a 3 block walk to the State Penitentiary. (Philly Plash hop on/hop off bus is $2.00 per ride, and about $6-$10 for a unlimited day pass, a very reasonable price to get around Center City!)

To be continued…
